Lip Magnet by Giorgio Armani at Fashion Week

Fashion week is many fantastic things; fabulous, fascinating, exhilarating, inspiring, memorable, sometimes even moving… The list could go on. It’s also exhausting, intense and extremely high pressure. It demands a lot of you and, more importantly, of your wardrobe and makeup. Say you’ve found the perfect colour popping lip to match the killer ensemble you’ll be legging around in for hours on hours on hours. The last thing you want is to have to constantly worry about your traffic stopping fuchsia pout fading to a paltry pink. After all, no one wants to be the idiot checking their pout in every reflective surface they encounter; taxi windows, other people’s sunglasses, patent handbags, iPhone in selfie mode… We’ve all been there and suffered the humiliation of catching the eye of someone while having a not so sneaky stare at ourselves. I don’t know about you but there is nothing, NOTHING I loathe more than a lipstick that results in hair getting hair stuck to my mouth or feeling like it’s about to get dragged off my face. On the flip side, there are few things I love more than super intense colour on my lips and this product delivers just that – in 18 different shades! – along with a perfect matte finish and flawless, long lasting wear.

“Long lasting wear” is what literally every lipstick ever promises I know. But having road – or rather show – tested Lip Magnet by Giorgio Armani Beauty in the sweltering heat of New York Fashion Week, I can confirm that it really does stay on your face. This was, and indeed is, something I appreciate a LOT because the idea of carefully applying lip liner (which I don’t actually own and have never actually done) before lipstick and then having to reapply repeatedly is not one I even remotely entertain. The most I ever attempted in that respect is haphazardly and half-assedly whacking on an extra layer or whatever I’m wearing, probably sans mirror in the back of a cab and undoubtedly resulting in a messy lip situation. Not any more! Mwahahaha…

I’m also a big fan of Lip Magnet’s neat triangle sponge on stick (technical term) applicator and initially liquid consistency. Both of those qualities lend themselves well to quick, careless application on the go and are a godsend for anyone who can’t be bothered to spend much time or expend much effort doing their makeup but still want to look bomb.
