Celebrating Fendi & Glamour WOTY

Oh, Fendi. Let me count the ways I love you Fendi. No other heritage, luxury house that’s been around for nine plus decades has the same sense of fun. The brand manages to serve up the highest level of quality and integrity with a hearty dose of tongue in cheek in a way that’s quite frankly ming blowing. From playfully iconic creations such as the bag bug and, of course, impractically tiny and often rainbow hued Baguette bags to candy pink mink and magical organza gowns adorned with tiny, furry faces, it’s expensive, luxurious and stunning but also humorous. This post isn’t actually just one long homage to Fendi but given that I was lucky enough to wear their dream dresses twice within the space of three days, and one the parties in question was in fact theirs, I feel a little love fest is justified…

There can be no denying that last week was hectic, fantastic, exhausting and ever so slightly surreal. It kicked off with the Glamour Women Of The Year Awards, one of the biggest events on the London fashion calendar and something I’d been looking forward to for months on end. I’d also been harassing team Fendi about THIS DRESS for basically as long and when I finally got my hands on it I never wanted to take it off. We spend the day leading up to the awards shooting for my YouTube channel at The London EDITION which was obviously very exciting obviously because it meant that said channel would finally be launching, but also because it meant I had a professional hair n’ make up look striking enough to do justice to my feathered frock. The ever wonderful Rolls Royce also very kindly supplied me with an ice white ride for the night making the whole experience one of the most fabulous I’ve ever had.

As for the awards themselves? SO MUCH FUN! Awards ceremonies are amazing but not always a riot, Glamour WOTY is one that is most definitely both. Between the custom built venue on Berkeley Square, the spectacular gala dinner, the seriously A list guests and the reliably raucous after party, it was a night to remember! I’m not going to give you an entire blow by blow of who won what but you can find out online here.

At this point I must take a pause and thank Glamour Magazine for having me at such a truly wonderful event, not to mention entrusting me with taking over their Snapchat for the occasion which I hope they don’t regret. And now on to the next one…

Night 3 begins…

The phrase “the struggle is real” is an annoying one but sure as hell applied the morning after Glamour WOTY! Obviously, I knocked back a coffee or five and put my game face on for a day’s work followed by an evening’s soirées – “fatigue” is no excuse to skip events hosted by Rebecca Minkoff and Harrods – before sleeping for ten hours straight to be back on form the next morning. It was another long shoot day, this time for Grazia Shop, before slipping into my second Fendi look of the week for their party that evening. Remember the Fendi store relaunch bash last year? Well, this time around they were celebrating the first anniversary of said store. Most of the same guests from last year’s event were in attendance, the flagship emporium of gorgeousness just as gorgeous as ever and I was in such a state of total over excitement about my outfit that I had to take a couple of “time outs” (read: fag breaks) so as not to actually faint or worse, freak my fellow guests tf out. There were bejewelled bags on the walls, The Big Pink on the decks, champagne on tap and at one point I dressed up in a Fendi fur hat and hung multiple Karlito charms off myself for an instagram photo opp.

All in all, last week was amazing and involved experiences I literally spent my teenage years dreaming of having. I learned a valuable, if entirely unsurprising lesson; it’s impossible not to have fun when wearing Fendi.
