Here we have the second outfit I rocked during our trip to Geneva! Actually, that’s a lie. It was in fact the third (fourth including pyjamas) but I shared the fab Nanette Lepore cocktail dress I wore for the previous evening’s festivities in a Look Du Jour post around this time last year so I didn’t think it needed to be repeated. Plus, by the time evening rolled around I frankly couldn’t be bothered to torture Millie by making her shoot it. There was champagne to be drunk after all! For me, this ensemble is just autumn all over. Much as I adore brights and prints and all things sparkly, nothing exudes effortless, elegant luxury quite like rich neutrals in cashmere and buttersoft leather. You no doubt recognise the Sandro coat which I’ve had for a while. It was a totally spur of the moment buy, as some of the best seem to be, en route home from a long day of shows during London Collections Men a few seasons ago and on a cost-per-wear basis has paid for itself umpteen times over. Meaning it’s not only been a useful and chic item of clothing but also, if you follow my logic, has afforded me many a guilt free purchase since. The skirt it from POLO Ralph Lauren’s delicious debut collection. As you might remember, they gave me the huge honour of being ambassador for the line this season and I’m so happy to be associated with anything that involves clothes this lovely, let alone such an incredible and iconic brand. I paired these honey hued delights with my current favourite swan motif cashmere sweater from Mulberry and trusty Jaeger bag, adding pillarbox red loafers and beret because we wouldn’t want things getting too understated now would we!
How do you think this outfit compares to the other one I’ve posted from Geneva? And what do you think of these images? Millie kindly shot them but I edited them myself, which basically extended to erasing the odd splodge of chewing gum on the ground and fiddling about with the exposure. Highly skilled stuff I’m sure you’ll agree.
Love Ella. X
